First Time: Digital Perming
It has been my long time plan to have my hair permed but it’s just now that I had the guts to make it happen. Before I had my hair cut short (like boy cut short), I really want it curly but I was just too scared then. And so this deal at Ensogo (http://www.ensogo.com.ph) was really tempting and yeah, I bought it, obviously.
On the 21st day of September, one of my most nerve-wracking experiences so far, is the day I became curly. LOL. I know you’re just reading this because you want to know every detail of this experience. Maybe, you are considering to perm your hair as well so I will try to put everything I know here. I’ve been there so I know you would want to know what you’re putting yourself into.

This is my hair before the procedure. It’s naturally straight. :)
So my schedule was 10:30 am at Azta Urban Salon, Katipunan.

My digital perming session was kicked-off by Mylyn’s (the senior stylist) assessment. Normally, what they would recommend is to drop by their salon first to have your hair assessed because some hairs are not suitable for perming. When she said we can go on with the perming, she called her assistant and had my hair “dry shampooed”. Basically, it was called ‘dry shampoo’ because she would apply and massage your hair while you’re on your seat but it will still be rinsed off the usual way. What I like in Azta is that you can choose to be washed with hot or cold water. After that, Mylyn trimmed my hair, just to take off those dry ends.

They already put the Loreal Extenso in my hair. According to Mylyn, it’s the same chemical that is used for rebonding. Just be prepared because it doesn’t really smell nice. It stayed on my hair for 20 minutes.

My hair was rolled into rods. Because I wanted big curls, they used medium and large rods.

They put this huge pad and all the other small pads in my head. Its purpose is to prevent heat from touching my scalp and neck cause it will be really really hot. I was actually laughing the whole time these pads are on my head. And I remembered someone…

O diba parang si Queen Seon Dok lang yung peg ng rods with the pads? :)

The rods were attached to the machine one by one. They put as much pads as possible so I’d be comfortable. It’s getting heavy by the way! Pasan ko ang daigdig feeling! Haha!

While you’re on it, it gets hotter and hotter but it’s tolerable. You’ll probably be frightened at first because the rubbers will break (because it’s really hot). Pakiramdam ko, may fireworks sa ulo ko. Isa-isa silang pumuputok. Haha!
After 20 minutes of being attached to the machine, they will detach each of the rods. Since your hair is super hot, you have to wait for a couple of minutes until it gets cold.
With one of my best friends, Anne. Thank God she was there. Nabawasan ang kaba ko sa magiging result. She dropped by since she’s in the area. She even brought me a chocolate donut from Starbucks! So sweet! :)
(left to right) 1.) The super duper nice people from Azta. 2.) Their cozy salon. 3.) Complimentary drinks. You can choose between iced tea and milk tea. After the ‘cooling’ thing, they put the neutralizer all over my hair. Unlike the first chemical, this one smells really nice! It stayed there for around 10 minutes. Then, they unrolled my hair from the rods and rinsed it to take off the chemical. And it’s done! Yay! But not quite cause the dirty job is yet to come. They taught me how to style my newly curled hair and I have listed them all for you!
How To Style Your Digi-Permed Hair

1. Towel dry
2. Take one part of your hair (you will then create four sections).
3. Release a ball of mousse into the palm of your hand and put it in your hair.
4. Scrunch it (scrunch: palms facing up, grab your hair from the bottom and push it to the top.
5. (While scrunching it) blow dry.
6. Twist it.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 for the remaining three sections.
8. Separate and loosen your twisted hair.
NOTE: Don’t comb your hair!
(left to right) Products recommended for curly hair. 1.) Creative Moulding Foam PHP 1245 2.) Bed Head’s Curls Rock Shampoo PHP 1260 3. Bed Head’s Curls Rock Conditioner PHP 1720. It’s so cute that they have this prescription paper that contains maintenance tips, recommended products, the manager and stylist’s name and contact number. It means that their service doesn’t just end there inside the salon.
Charaaan! Here’s how my hair right after everything! It’s not yet completely dry here. I so love how they were able to achieve the curl I really wanted! :)
And of course all of these wouldn’t be possible without these two lovely ladies. My stylists! Mylyn really knows what she is doing! Good job! Here’s how my hair looks like after 2 hours!

Would I recommend digital perming? Yes!
Would I recommend Azta Urban Salon? Double yes! This would probably be one of the best salons I have ever tried. They have a superb customer service may it be on their official Facebook fanpage (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Azta-Urban-Salon/43299713717) or inside their salon. I just so love how they treat their customers! :) I do hope they would have a branch near me so I can be a regular. Imagine, with just PHP 1,500 (got it 50% off at Ensogo. It’s PHP 3,000 for any length.), I was able to have this look? Sulit diba? :)
I’ll post more photos after a few days to see how my hair will look like. I’ll give you guys an update, I promise. :)
